Physiotherapy for seniors in Vadodara

Staying strong and steady on your feet is the key to staying independent. We help older adults move with less pain, walk with more confidence and keep doing the things they enjoy.

How we help older adults

  • Joint pain and stiffness — arthritis in the knees, hips, back and shoulders
  • Weakness after illness or a hospital stay, when getting up and walking feel harder
  • Balance problems and fear of falling
  • Recovery after a fracture or joint replacement
  • Muscle weakness after nerve problems, using exercise and muscle stimulation
  • Walking aids — whether one is needed, and how to use it safely

What sessions involve

After a gentle, unhurried assessment, we build a programme around three things:

  1. Strength — especially the legs, for getting up from chairs, climbing steps and walking
  2. Balance — standing and walking exercises that make you steadier, always done safely
  3. Movement and comfort — easing stiff, painful joints so daily tasks are easier

Every exercise is explained clearly, and family members are welcome to learn the home programme too.

Great experience, half the recovery is possible just because of Dr. Hemal & her team’s friendly approach and rest is possible because of their targeted treatment.

Tips for staying steady at home

  • Walk every day, even for 10–15 minutes, on safe, even ground.
  • Practise sit-to-stand — getting up from a firm chair without using your hands, if you safely can.
  • Make home safer — good lighting at night, handrails on stairs and in the bathroom, non-slip mats, and no loose wires or rugs.
  • Wear well-fitting footwear with a good grip, at home and outside.
  • Get up slowly after lying or sitting for a long time, especially at night.

Call for emergency help if you notice:

  • Sudden weakness or numbness on one side, a drooping face, or slurred speech
  • Chest pain or sudden breathlessness
  • A fall with a head injury, severe pain, or being unable to stand

Frequently asked questions

Is physiotherapy safe at 70 or 80 years of age?

Yes. Exercise is planned around each person’s health, medicines and fitness, and starts gently. We regularly treat older patients and progress at a pace that feels comfortable.

Can exercise really reduce falls?

Yes. Balance and strength exercise is one of the best-proven ways to reduce the risk of falling in older adults, especially when done regularly over several months.

Should a family member come along?

It often helps, particularly for the first visit — they can share the medical history, learn the home exercises, and help with practice at home.

What should we bring to the first visit?

Any recent reports or X-rays, a list of medicines, the walking aid you use (if any), and comfortable clothes and footwear.
