Frozen shoulder & shoulder pain treatment in Vadodara

When your shoulder is painful and stiff, simple things — combing hair, reaching a shelf, wearing a shirt, sleeping on one side — become a struggle. Physiotherapy eases the pain and gets the shoulder moving again.

Shoulder problems we treat

  • Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) — gradual pain and stiffness, often with night pain
  • Rotator cuff strain and tendon pain — pain when lifting the arm or sleeping on that side
  • Shoulder impingement — a pinching pain when raising the arm overhead
  • Stiffness and weakness after a shoulder fracture, dislocation or surgery

About frozen shoulder

In a frozen shoulder, the capsule around the joint becomes inflamed and then tight. It is most common between the ages of 40 and 60, slightly more common in women, and more likely in people with diabetes or thyroid problems. It usually passes through three phases:

  1. Freezing — pain builds and movement starts to reduce
  2. Frozen — pain may ease, but the shoulder is very stiff
  3. Thawing — movement slowly returns

Treatment changes with each phase: calming pain early on, and working more on movement and strength as the shoulder allows.

How we treat it at Nisarg

  • Assessment of how far the shoulder moves, which movements hurt, and what you need to be able to do again
  • Pain relief with heat, electrotherapy and gentle hands-on techniques
  • Mobilisation and stretching within comfort — never forced
  • Strengthening of the shoulder blade and rotator cuff muscles as pain settles
  • A home programme of short, regular exercises, because a stiff shoulder improves best with little-and-often practice

I had problem with my shoulder (frozen shoulder) and I went here for couple weeks and I felt really good and have recovery about 80% already in few weeks… thanks to the Hemal madam.

Tips for living with a stiff shoulder

  • Move it gently every day — short sessions several times a day work better than one long, painful one.
  • Warm the shoulder for 10–15 minutes before your exercises.
  • Support the arm on a pillow at night to ease night pain.
  • Don’t push into sharp pain or let anyone force the shoulder.

Get urgent medical help if shoulder pain comes with:

  • Chest pain, breathlessness or sweating — especially left shoulder or arm pain, which can be a heart problem
  • A fall with a visible deformity or sudden inability to lift the arm
  • A hot, swollen joint with fever

Frequently asked questions

How long does frozen shoulder last?

Frozen shoulder often lasts many months and can take a year or more to settle fully. Treatment aims to ease pain and restore movement as much as possible along the way, so daily life gets easier sooner. Dr. Hemal will explain what to expect after assessing your shoulder.

Is some discomfort during exercises normal?

A mild stretching feeling is expected. Sharp or lasting pain is not — tell us, and we will adjust the exercises. Forcing a frozen shoulder usually makes it worse.

Is frozen shoulder linked to diabetes?

Yes. Frozen shoulder is more common in people with diabetes or thyroid problems, and recovery can be slower. Keeping blood sugar well controlled helps.

Do I need an injection?

Some people benefit from an injection given by a doctor, especially when pain is severe. Physiotherapy works alongside it. We can discuss this with you and your orthopaedic doctor.
